My Story and Career

Hello! My name is Bianca Galli, an architect who discovered early on the power of spaces to tell stories and shape experiences. I was born in Florianópolis, under the Brazilian sun, but it was in Porto, with its streets full of history and its fresh Atlantic air, that I found my path and my voice in architecture. From a young age, I was fascinated by how each building, square, or street has its own narrative, as if they were pages of an open book for our interpretation.

My journey here wasn't a straight line. It took me from the University of Minho, where architecture and anthropology intertwined in my master's thesis, to historic Rome, under the Erasmus program, where every corner told the story of empires and dreamers. In Stockholm, I learned the delicacy of Nordic design and the importance of every detail, working on models that not only built projects but also dreams.

In 2017, I took a leap of faith and launched my freelance project, +819 architects, in Porto. It was a time of growth, challenges, and many joys. And as life is made of changes, recently, London called me, and I answered, bringing along my passion and the desire to continue creating spaces that inspire.

Beyond sketches and projects, I am a lover of books, art, and the small moments with family. Each of these aspects of my life feeds my creativity and shapes my approach to architecture.

Being an architect for me is more than designing spaces; it's about creating environments that reflect and respect the stories of those who inhabit them. It's a constant search for balance between functionality and beauty, between the new and the old, between the individual and the collective.

I hope that, by getting to know a bit more about me, you feel the same passion and dedication that I put into each project. I am always looking for new challenges and new stories to tell through architecture. Let's build not just spaces, but lasting memories together.
